Amaymon
AMAYMON is King of the South wind, and of the Southern Court. He appears as a bearded old man, with hair like a horse's mane that hangs over one eye. He has ears like a horse. He rides a lion, and holds either a rod or a dart in his right hand, which he shakes in front of him.
He travels with a retinue of spirits, all dancing and playing music. Their movements are accompanied by thunder and forked lightning.
Amaymon brings friendships, dignities, promotions, riches, and acquaintances with nobility. He teaches philosophy, and the Ars Notoria. He knows the treatments to many illnesses.
He will happily receive your sacrifices, offerings and gifts.
If you make any request of him, do so in a kind and gentle manner. Only petition him when the weather is fair.
Ask Amaymon to consecrate your books.
You may ask him any question.
Practitioners invoke Amaymon for his abilities to influence events and guide decisions, especially in new beginnings and creative endeavors. He is known to provide insight and understanding, particularly in areas related to elemental energies and the manipulation of physical and spiritual realms.
Amaymon tends to respond well to rituals that emphasize wisdom and elemental manipulation. Practitioners suggest using candles or incense that represent fire, as he is associated with this element.
Offerings of herbs related to wisdom, such as sage and rosemary, are often recommended.
Amaymon dislikes any form of disrespect during rituals. Arrogance or disdain can lead to negative outcomes. It’s suggested that rituals be conducted in a calm and serene environment, as chaos or loudness may hinder communication.
Practitioners report that Amaymon can manifest through visions or vivid dreams that bring knowledge or insights. Some note sudden bursts of inspiration or clarity when working with him. His invocation may evoke a distinct change in temperature: this may manifest as warmth or as sudden coldness. Some describe seeing shadows or a flickering light, particularly in peripheral vision. A feeling of pressure or weight in the air is commonly reported, which can intensify as the ritual progresses. Occasionally, whispers or a subtle buzzing sound may be heard, and some practitioners experience tingling sensations, especially in their hands or the area surrounding their heart.
